IWLCA Announces Major Support Awards for the 2012 Season

Kienle has been the assistant coach at Rollins for the past five years. He has helped build Rollins College from a new program to an NCAA Championship contender that time, all with no athletic scholarship money. In 2012, Rollins reached the NCAA semifinals after a program-best record of 15-2, including 15 straight wins. Kienle has coached five IWLCA All Americans. As the offensive coordinator, Kienle has helped the Rollins team rank in the top-five in scoring offense for each of the past three seasons. He has also helped coach multiple IWLCA South Region and All American players.

Barnes just completed his ninth season at UNC. His approach to the sport and his bringing new and innovative ways of training, watching film, developing offenses and defenses, and maybe most importantly recruiting has helped UNC reach success in the post season, including a quarterfinal appearance in 2012 as well as making the title game in the ACC Tournament. North Carolina reached the national semifinals in 2009, 2010, 2011, with a championship appearance in 2009. Barnes has been instrumental in helping UNC women's lacrosse remain in the upper echelon in the country by bringing stability to their recruiting and overall success.
