Colgate Lacrosse Names Captains, Announces 2013 Schedule

"It's a budding rivalry between Army and Colgate."

Next up are consecutive weekend trips to the Lehigh Valley.

Murphy: "You come back and have a rematch of last year's Patriot League Championship with Lehigh. Again, it's another kind of rivalry game every game in our league is a rivalry game because the league's very good.

"We split last year, but they got the better of us when it counted the most. The Mountain Hawks bring back an unbelievable group of guys who made it to the NCAA tournament, and it will be a good chance for us to showcase our brand of lacrosse in the Lehigh Valley.

"The following weekend, we head to Lafayette. They've got a brand new coach in Jim Rogalski. He'll do a great job with the Leopards.

They will be an interesting foe as they begin a new era with a new coach and new players. It will be big road game for us."

How has the Bucknell game impacted the Patriot League season of late?

Murphy: "It's been the game that the last couple of years has dictated who hosted the Patriot League tournament. They will be hungry to avenge last year. We were fortunate to win twice last year one in the waning seconds of the regular season game and then in the Patriot League semifinals.

"They will do a really good job of putting a great team on the field, as Coach (Frank) Fedorjaka always does."

How does Maryland at the end of the year fit into your schedule?

Murphy: "We finish off the regular season with a trip down to Maryland. It's been a very good game for us these last two years. I am sure Coach (John) Tillman and those guys will be very fired up. The game allows us to compete against one of the very best teams in the country. It has been very important because in 2012, the win allowed us to secure one of the at-large spots for the NCAA tournament.

"I am excited for the 2013 season. I know our guys and the staff continue to work hard in our preparations for the season, and we are looking forward to representing Colgate University on the lacrosse field in 2013."
