Former Lion Suits up for Team Canada

MARS HILL, N.C.-- Former Mars Hill lacrosse player Chris Cudmore will suit up for Team Canada when they take on Ohio State this Sunday.

While at Mars Hill, Cudmore earned All-American recognition three times as a defender. He is the school's all-time leader in games started (51) and turnovers caused (114). Cudmore was drafted by the Minnesota Storm in the fifth round of the 2012 National Lacrosse League draft. Team Canada is comprised of players that are expected to compete for a roster spot in the 2014 Federation of International Lacrosse Championship, which will take place July 10-19 in Denver.

Team Canada will face Ohio State this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center in Columbus, Ohio. The game will be Canada's only match-up with an NCAA school in the coming months. The Canadian National Team is considered the top national lacrosse team in the world, having defeated Team USA 11-9 in September.
