Post to Play Program Record Nine Home Games in 2013

WATERBURY, Conn. The Post University athletics department announced the 2013 women's lacrosse schedule on Thursday afternoon. Under the guidance of first-year head coach Laura Campbell, the Eagles will play in a program record nine home games during their fourth season of varsity competition.

"I'm looking forward to getting the season started," Campbell said. "We are fortunate to be hosting a number of quality opponents both in the CACC and in our non-conference schedule including both Holy Family and Georgian Court who played for the conference title last season."

Post will begin the 15-games slate season with back-to-back home dates against in-state rival Bridgeport and American International on Feb. 28 and March 13, respectively. Post is 1-1 against Bridgeport since the program gained varsity status in 2010.

After a contest at Bridgeport on Friday, March 15, the Eagles will round out March with four home contests in a five-game span. Post will open Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play against Dominican on March 20, at LaMoy Field. The Eagles will round out the week with consecutive home games against conference foe Chestnut Hill (March 23) and Lake Erie (March 24). It will be the first meeting with the Storm.

The month of March concludes with a home game against Northeast-10 foe Southern Connecticut State on March 28, at 4:00 p.m.

After conference games at CACC Tournament finalist Georgian Court and Philadelphia University, Post will return to LaMoy Field for a conference match-up against Nyack on Tuesday, April 9.

Following a road game at Dominican on April 11, Post will round out the regular season with three straight home matches. The Eagles will welcome 2011 CACC Tournament champion Holy Family to LaMoy Field on April 14, while Georgian Court and Wilmington will visit Waterbury on April 17 and April 20, respectively.

With eight teams in the CACC this season, the conference will be divided into two divisions. The top two teams in each division will advance to the CACC Tournament at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, N.J. The semifinals will be held on April 27 and the 2012 CACC Tournament champion will be crowned on Sunday, April 28.
