Coker 6th in Conference Carolinas Preseason Coaches' Poll

HARTSVILLE, S.C. Coker College has been voted sixth in the Conference Carolinas preseason coaches' poll, the league office announced.

The Cobras enter their second season as a program. Sophomore Keith LaClair, a third team all-conference selection last year, returns to lead the team. Playing in all 16 games for the Cobras, LaClair had a team-high 31 goals to go along with nine assists. He is joined by 18 fellow returnees and 11 newcomers for 2013.

The men's lacrosse season begins Feb. 8 at Shorter University in Georgia.

Defending regular season and conference champion Limestone College was voted first by the coaches. The Saints earned 36 points six of the seven first-place votes. Pfeiffer University took second with 31 points and one first-place vote.

The entire preseason poll is as follows: 1. Limestone College; 2. Pfeiffer University; 3. Queens University of Charlotte; 4. Belmont Abbey College; 5. Mount Olive College; 6. Coker College; 7. Lees-McRae College.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletic conference made up of 12 teams from North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions are Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Coker College, Converse College, Erskine College, King College, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, Mount Olive College, North Greenville University, Pfeiffer University and Queens University of Charlotte
