Davidson Adds Eight for the 2014 Lacrosse Recruiting Class
DAVIDSON, N.C. - Davidson College head coach Kim Wayne has announced the admittance of eight recruits to the class of 2013-2014. The class consists of six midfielders, one attacker and a goalie that hail from eight different states.
"I'm eager to see the impact all eight commits will make when they step foot on campus in the fall of 2013," said Wayne. "They recognize the academic standards that Davidson holds them to, but they exhibit a drive and determination that will take them a long way both on the field and in the classroom. I'm excited to welcome them to the Wildcat family."

– Katherine Rueger, Midfielder, Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y. – Long Island Yellow Jackets
– Kacey Merlini, Defensive Midfielder, Ponte Vedra, Fla. - Laxmaniax
– Morgan Burch, Attacker, Colorado Springs, Colo. – Team 180
– Kendall Thielemann, Attack/Midfield, Ellicott City, Md. – Hero's
– Dana Stasieluk, Goalkeeper, Edina, Minn. – Minnesota Lakers
– Nicole Pettiglio, Midfielder, Westford, Mass. – Team EVO
– Annie Brockett, Midfield Attacker, Shaker Heights, Ohio – Ohio Premier
Arden Simone is a five-year varsity starter at The Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr, Pa., where she is a three-time alll-league and All-Main Line selection. She played for Philly at the U.S. Lacrosse National Tournament, and played club for Steps Elite Philadelphia. She was named a U.S. Lacrosse High School Academic All-American in 2012. At Baldwin, Simone has earned 14 varsity letters in lacrosse, cross country, indoor track, and diving. She has served as captain four times and was named MVP seven times, including Lacrosse MVP in 2012. Simone was elected as the Head of Athletic Association for 2012-2013.
A midfielder from Cold Spring Harbor High School in Long Island, N.Y., Katherine Rueger is a three-sport athlete and a three-year varsity starter for the lacrosse team. An honorable mention all-county player during her junior year, Katherine was named captain for her upcoming senior campaign. A three-sport athlete, Rueger is a member of the varsity soccer and winter track teams. As a two-time captain, Rueger helped lead her soccer team to two state semifinal appearances while being named All-State, All-County and MVP in the County Finals in her senior year. She is currently a member of the National Honor Society.
Morgan Burch, an attacker from Colorado Springs, Colo., and a captain for her lacrosse team, Burch is entering her fourth season on varsity for Cheyenne Mountain High School. An Honorable Mention All-State her freshman year and first-team team All-State her sophomore and junior year, Burch was honored by her team and the coaching staff by being awarded the CMHS (Cheyenne Mountain High School) Coaches award her sophomore year and the CMHS offensive MVP award her junior year. In addition, Burch is a Colorado Girl's Lacrosse Association official and a member of the National Charity League and the National Honor Society.
A four-year varsity starter in lacrosse, Kacey Merlini accumulated eight varsity letters in lacrosse and swimming at Ponte Vedra High School in Ponte Vedra, Fla. At the conclusion of her junior year, Kacey was named team MVP in the midfield while also receiving first team all-county honors. She is currently serving as a captain in her senior season. Merlini is a member of the National Honor Society as well as Hispanic, English and Science Honor Societies. She is also a four-time Honor Roll nominee and a three-year academic excellence award recipient.
