Shenandoah Picked Fourth in ODAC Preseason Poll

FOREST, Va. - Shenandoah University is the No. 4 selection of the ODAC coaches in preseason poll results released Tuesday by the league office.

Shenandoah, coming off of a program-record 13 wins and an appearance in the USA South Tournament championship game, has 63 points to finish fourth of 11 ODAC women's lacrosse playing institutions.

Defending champion Washington and Lee is the pick to win it all again in 2013, grabbing a perfect 100 points on 10 first place votes.

Points are awarded on a 1-10 basis with teams unable to vote for themselves in the poll.

Roanoke, with 87 points, is the No. 2 selection with Lynchburg coming in third at 85 points.

The LC Hornets received the final first place vote.

SU was 4-0 against ODAC schools last season, defeating Guilford, 8-7; Randolph-Macon, 17-11; Randolph College, 13-2 and Bridgewater, 14-6.

GC was picked fifth, Macon tied for sixth, Bidgewater eighth and Randolph ninth in the poll.

Shenandoah returns nine starters from the 2012 squad, including juniors Samantha Sisson and Ashley Cross and sophomore Liz Bereit. All three of women were first team All-USA South Conference selections last spring with Sisson being named as the league's Rookie of the Year in 2011 and Bereit in 2012.
