Defiance Selected 10th in MLC Preseason Poll

NAPERVILLE, Ill. The Yellow Jacket men's lacrosse program was selected 10th out of 11 teams in the 2013 Midwest Lacrosse Conference preseason coaches' poll. Defiance earned 24 points in the poll and is nine points above Milwaukee School of Engineering with 15 total points.

The Purple and Gold is entering its inaugural season in 2013 as an official varsity sport at DC. The program is led by head coach Ryan Kuhn.

Aurora led all teams in the preseason MLC rankings with 100 points, including nine first-place votes. Rounding out the top five spots were Concordia (82), Carthage (76), Mount St. Joseph (74) and Augustana (73).

The Yellow Jackets play their first game in school history on Saturday, February 23 against Albion. The game will be played in Pontiac, Mich. and start at noon. Defiance's home opener is scheduled for Saturday, March 2, as the Jackets host Calvin at 1:00 p.m. at the newly turfed Justin F. Coressel Stadium.
