Reinert Named Assistant Lacrosse Coach at New England C.

HENNIKER, N.H. Brian Reinert joins the New England College men's lacrosse coaching staff as a defensive coordinator and strength and conditioning coach after spending this past semester in Georgia as a graduate assistant at Berry College.

Prior to accepting the position at Berry, Reinert spent the 2012 season at Gettysburg College as the second assistant, where the team finished with a record of 11-7 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament. His responsibilities have included coordinating the defense, team strength and conditioning, academic mentoring, and an active role in the recruitment of student-athletes.

While at Gettysburg College, Reinert helped coach and develop five all-conference players and one All-American defenseman. Prior to his collegiate coaching debut, Reinert coached at his alma mater, Parkland High School, where he served as the defensive coordinator and head junior varsity coach.

As a student-athlete, Reinert played for Stony Brook University and was a four-year letter winning defenseman. Reinert started in 35 games in three years, won two Conference Championships, and was part of arguably, the best team in school history. The 2010 team finished their season with a record 13-4, an America East Conference Championship, and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Division I NCAA tournament.

Reinert will be working extensively with the defense during his time in Henniker, and will also spearhead the role of recruiting coordinator. He graduated Stony Brook University with a Bachelor's of Science in Health Science and will be pursuing his Masters Degree in Education while at NEC.

"I am incredibly excited to have Bryan join the staff here at NEC, where he has had an immediate impact on our student-athletes." Coach Gilbert continues that, "his passion and excitement for this game is contagious and has already raised our level of play."

New England College will open their season on Saturday, March 2 when they travel to play Babson College.
