No. 1 Colorado State Runs Past Utah State in Season Opener

Loveland, CO No. 1 Colorado State opened its season on an increasingly cold Friday evening at the Loveland Sports Park against RMLC foe Utah State. The Rams led 4-0 after one period and 10-1 at halftime en route to a comfortable 21-2 victory in which every active player saw playing time and 17 different Rams register at least a point on the night.

Colorado State (1-0 overall, 1-0 RMLC) was led by Austin Fisher (Rock Canyon HS/Highlands Ranch, CO), who registered six points in the victory, while sophomore attackman Chris Roach (Wheat Ridge HS/Westminster, CO) pitched in with five points as well. Utah State (1-3 overall, 0-1 RMLC) got a goal each from Michael Christiansen and Kevin Mann.

It was a balanced effort for Colorado State, who forced 22 Aggies turnovers in the game and took 66 shots in the victory.
