Central Atlantic (CACC) North/South Preseason Coaches' Polls

New Haven, Conn. - Holy Family has been selected the favorite to claim the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South Division regular season title this season as voted by the conference's head coaches in the annual CACC Women's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches' Poll as announced by the conference office.

Holy Family, the reigning CACC Champions, led the South Division with three first-place votes and 13 points. Wilmington followed with 11 points, while Philadelphia received nine points for third place. Chestnut Hill rounds out the South Division with seven points and one first-place vote.

In the North Division, Georgian Court led with 15 points after receiving three first-place votes. Dominican received the other first-place vote to finish second with 13 points. Post followed in third with seven points, while Nyack rounded out the North with five points.

The 2013 season marks the first season women's lacrosse has been split into divisions since becoming a conference sport in 2009.

"This is a great place for us to be in for preseason rankings," said second year head coach Elizabeth Weber. "We are looking forward to starting our season after all the hard work we have put in during the off season and all preseason long. The staff has high expectations for this group again this year and we are excited to open up on Saturday against Seton Hill."

Holy Family claimed last year's regular season title after finishing conference play with a program best 11-1 record. The Tigers wrapped up the 2012 season as CACC champions to go along with a 14-4 record. Holy Family finished last season with a program best 11 game-winning streak.

Holy Family will open its season on Saturday, March 2 at Seton Hill University in a non-conference contest. Game time is slated for 2:00 p.m.
