Shepherd Pitches Shutout at Alderson-Broaddus
PHILIPPI, W.Va. – Senior midfielder Nicole Ruane (Sykesville, MD/Century) had four goals and four assists, while sophomore attacker/midfielder Kelsey Eagan (Baltimore, MD/Sparrows Point) added four goals and a pair of assists to lead Shepherd to a 25-0 win at Alderson-Broaddus in action on Tuesday.
Junior attacker Hanna Wharton (Ijamsville, MD/Urbana) and sophomore attacker Georgia Karr (Eldersburg, MD/Liberty) each added three goals. Karr also had two assists.
Senior midfielder Krista Tippett (Leonardtown, MD/Leonardtown), junior midfielder Jenny Cavey (Sykesville, MD/Westminster), and freshman midfielder Erin Phelan (Thurmont, MD/Catoctin) each added tallied a goal and an assist.
The Rams also got single goals from junior midfielder Christina Ferrara (California, MD/Leonardtown), sophomore midfielder /defender Allie Wesley (Bowie, MD/Annapolis Area Christian School), sophomore defender/midfielder Alyx Albano (Wayne, NJ/ Wayne Hills), freshman attacker Hunter Morris (Severna Park, MD/Severn School), freshman defender Kelsey Phelan (Thurmont, MD/Catoctin), freshman midfielder Maggie Garvey (Chester, MD/Kent Island), freshman midfielder Theresa Lang (Severn, MD/Archbishop Spalding), and freshman defender Taylor Hicks (Baltimore, MD/Mercy).
The Rams had a 14-0 lead at the break.
Sophomore netminder Lily Schmulowitz (Baltimore, MD/Catonsville) recorded five saves for the Rams, while Kate Laird had 10 saves for Alderson-Broaddus.
Shepherd held a 45-8 shots advantage and a 44-13 edge in ground balls.
Shepherd improves to 3-0, while Alderson-Broaddus falls to 0-2. The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to Notre Dame of Ohio for a 5:00 p.m. contest.
