Three Hat Tricks Lead No. 4 Rollins over No. 7 Stonehill

WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 2, 2013) - Rollins saw scoring efforts from eight different players, including hat tricks from Kelly Thayer, Chelsea Pinneke and Erica Pagliarulo, as Rollins downed Stonehill, 16-15. on Saturday evening in Winter Park.

Stonehill jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first half before the Rollins attack kicked into gear following a Tars timeout. Kelly Thayer got Rollins on the board with one of her three goals on the night then assisted the next Tars goal by Caroline Lamere 19 seconds later putting the score at 4-2.

Rollins would go on to score six more consecutive goals to move the score to 8-4. The Skyhawks would add another goal right before half to bring the score to 8-5.

Stonehill would go on a hot streak in the early stages of the second half, claiming the lead at 12-11 with 15:46 to play.

The Tars answered back with goals from Chelsea Pinneke, Tyler Thomas and Courtney Bianculli to reclaim the lead at 14-12 with just under nine minutes remaining.

From this point on, the Tars would never surrender the lead again, eventually knocking-off the Skyhawks 16-15.

It was a busy evening for Elyse De Lisle between the pipes as she grabbed 15 saves.

Her Stonehill counterpart only managed to stop five Rollins shots. Rollins was 5-7 on free position shots, including a perfect 4-4 in the first half.

Stonehill's Heather Sullivan had six goals on ten shots in the losing effort to lead the Skyhawks.

The Tars return to action on Monday, March 4, as they will take on Regis at Barker Family Stadium. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
