Shepherd Scores Final Four to Edge Tiffin

TIFFIN, Ohio Sophomore attacker Georgia Karr (Eldersburg, MD/Liberty) scored four goals and added five assists to lead Shepherd to a 13-11 win over Tiffin in action at Tiffin on Sunday. The Rams ended the game on a 4-0 run to rally for the victory.

Sophomore attacker/midfielder Kelsey Eagan (Baltimore, MD/Sparrows Point) added two goals and an assist, while senior midfielder Krista Tippett (Leonardtown, MD/Leonardtown) and junior attacker Hanna Wharton (Ijamsville, MD/Urbana) each contributed a pair of goals for the Rams.

Freshman midfielder Erin Phelan (Thurmont, MD/Catoctin), junior midfielder Christina Ferrara (California, MD/Leonardtown), and freshman attacker Hunter Morris (Severna Park, MD/Severn School) each added a goal. Ferrara, Phelan, Morris, and sophomore midfielder /defender Allie Wesley (Bowie, MD/Annapolis Are Christian School) each had single assists.

Alexandria Quast had four goals and an assist, while Emily Roussel had three goals to lead Tiffin.

Sophomore netminder Lily Schmulowitz (Baltimore, MD/Catonsville) recorded three saves for the Rams, while Jessica Bombard had 13 saves for the Dragons.

Shepherd held a 28-19 shots advantage and a 19-17 edge in ground balls. Tiffin had a 14-11 upper hand in draw controls.

Tiffin held an 11-9 lead after an unassisted goal by Quast with 15:24 left. Wharton scored a free position goal with 14:06 remaining and Karr tied the game at 11-all on a feed from Phelan with 8:55 left. Wharton put the Rams ahead for good on a feed from Karr with 8:03 remaining. Eagan tallied the game's final goal on an assist from Wesley with 7:51 left in the game.

Shepherd improves to 4-1, while Tiffin falls to 0-1. The Rams return to action on Sunday when they travel to Young Harris for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
