St. Joseph's Edges Wesley in Defensive Struggle

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. In a very low scoring affair, Wesley fell at St. Joseph's (L.I.), 5-2, on Sunday afternoon at Danzi Stadium. The Wolverines fall to 1-3 on the season while the Eagles improve to 2-1.

Rylee Gould put Wesley on top with 13:18 left in the first half, but St. Joseph's beat Wolverines goalkeeper Alyssa Batty at the 11:33 and 5:15 marks to go ahead 2-1 at halftime.

The Eagles scored 25 seconds into the second and another two more before Jorden Lutz assisted on a Jen Jacobs score with 1:58 left in the game.

Batty kept Wesley in the game by making 21 saves on the day. Kaylee Miller and Nina Cornog combined for five caused turnovers.

Notre Dame (Md.) is up next for Wesley at 4:00 pm on March 6 in the Charm City.
