Albion Cruises to Victory at Franciscan
STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – Ashley Glenn (New Hudson/South Lyon), Kadie Koolwick (Bloomfield/Lahser) and Julie Wood (Farmington Hills/Mercy) scored four goals apiece and Mackenzie Novak (Waterford/Our Lady of the Lakes) produced three goals and two assists to lead Albion to a 16-5 win over Franciscan in non-league action.
Glenn scored all four of her goals in the first half as the Britons built an 11-3 lead. She scored three times – twice unassisted – in a three-minute span midway through the period. Wood scored three times in a 37-second period of the first half.
Isabel Fontana (Bloomfield/Lahser) scored an unassisted goal in the second half.
Albion finished the contest with a 28-10 edge in shots. Goalkeeper Victoria Della Pia made three saves.
Albion completed its opening weekend of play with a 1-1 record. The Britons will travel to Illinois March 16-17 for matches against Aurora and Augustana.
