Denver went off for eight goals in a row, including three by Dillon, to take a 16-7. Kuhlman scored off a draw with 7:47 remaining but Denver scored twice more to make it an 18-8 final.

HPU senior Anna Wallingford started in goal and made six saves. Denver's Hannah Hook earned the win with nine stops. High Point was whistled for 20 more fouls than Denver.

The Panthers have another tough match-up ahead but they will be on their home turf. HPU hosts No. 3 North Carolina on Tuesday, March 12, at Vert Stadium.
