Stanwick Nets Four as No. 20 Boston College Runs by Va. Tech

Stanwick opened the streak with a goal off a free position shot before Rix scored on an unassisted goal, and Barry found the back of the net off an eight-meter shot of her own putting BC up 3-1 with 13:49 left in the first.

Rix scored her second goal of the game, charging right into the arc before Weilminster scored for the first time in her career and Stanwick converted again to give BC a 7-1 halftime edge.

Stanwick and Weilminster added tallies early in the second half before the Hokies stopped the run with a goal just over four minutes into the second stanza. The Eagles then went on a 3-0 run to claim a 12-2 edge with 19:33 left. Rix and Weilminster scored the run's first two goals before Margolis converted for her first career goal.

The Hokies scored three straight to pull within 12-5, but the Eagles added three more goals in the last 7:04 for the final score.

Boston College returns to play in its ACC home opener against Maryland on March 16 at 1:00 p.m.
