Pomona-Pitzer Hands Berry Third West Coast Loss

CLAREMONT, Calif. -- Kristan Dziurzynski scored three goals and dished one assist, but Berry lost to Pomona-Pitzer, 22-7, on Saturday.

After its third straight defeat in California, Berry dropped to 2-4. The Sagehens improved to 5-3.

Elizabeth Flatt scored two goals for the Vikings. Blair Shupenko and Sara Witten found the net once for BC. Taylor Martin recorded a season-best 11 saves for the visitors.

Berry trailed 8-3 after the Sagehens scored five consecutive times. Yet the Vikings then tallied three straight times to cut the margin to 8-6. The home team potted one more goal and led 9-6 at the break.

Berry led in draw controls, 19-12. The Sagehens, however, had the edge in shots, 39-20.

Jana London scored nine goals and had three assists for Pomona-Pitzer.

The Vikings next play at Transylvania on Saturday, March 16.
