No. 15 Ohio State Uses 11-1 Second Half to Run by Canisius

Ohio State headed into the intermission with a 5-4 lead with shots even at 13 in the opening 30 minutes of action.

The second half was much different as the Buckeyes dominated the second 30 minutes of play to run away with the win. Ohio State scored the first four goals of the second stanza in just over five minutes of action before Canisius even had the ball in its offensive zone. Overall, the Buckeyes outscored Canisius, 11-1, in the second half and held a 23-5 advantage in shots. In fact, Canisius got off only five shots after the intermission, while committing 11 turnovers.

Overall, Ohio State outshot the Griffs, 36-18, in the win and held a commanding 17-6 advantage in draw controls. Jackie Cifarelli (1g, 5a) and Cara Facchina (4g, 2a) led the Buckeyes with six points each.

Canisius returns to Buffalo for its next game when the Griffs host Long Island on Thursday. First draw is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
