Shepherd Offense in High Gear in Win at Young Harris

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. Senior midfielder Nicole Ruane (Sykesville, MD/Century) scored four goals, while junior midfielder Christina Ferrara (California, MD/Leonardtown), sophomore attacker Georgia Karr (Eldersburg, MD/Liberty), and freshman attacker Hunter Morris (Severna Park, MD/Severn School) each added hat tricks to lead Shepherd to a 25-4 win over Young Harris in action on Sunday.

Karr also had a game-high three assists, Morris had two, and Ruane added another.

Senior midfielder Krista Tippett (Leonardtown, MD/Leonardtown) recorded two goals and two assists, while sophomore attacker/midfielder Kelsey Eagan (Baltimore, MD/Sparrows Point), junior attacker Hanna Wharton (Ijamsville, MD/Urbana), and freshman midfielder Maggie Garvey (Chester, MD/Kent Island) each contributed a pair of goals for the Rams. Wharton also added an assist.

Junior midfielder Jenny Cavey (Sykesville, MD/Westminster) had a goal and an assist, while freshman midfielder Erin Phelan (Thurmont, MD/Catoctin), freshman midfielder Theresa Lang (Severn, MD/Archbishop Spalding), and freshman defender Taylor Hicks (Baltimore, MD/ Mercy) each contributed a goal.

Senior attacker/midfielder Alexandra Coates (Jefferson, MD/Brunswick) added an assist.

Jordana Freites and Breanna Farmer each had a pair of goals for Young Harris.

Sophomore netminder Lily Schmulowitz (Baltimore, MD/Catonsville) recorded two saves for the Rams, while Carter Moore had 14 saves for the Mountain Lions.

Shepherd improves to 5-1, while Young Harris falls to 0-1. The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to #14 Pfeiffer for a 3:00 p.m. contest.
