Korn, Kassab Net Five Each as #7 Pfeiffer Routs Shepherd

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - An onslaught of 14 first half goals propelled seventh-ranked Pfeiffer to a 19-2 victory over visiting Shepherd in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon. The Lady Falcons remain unbeaten moving to 8-0 on the year, while the Rams fall to 5-2.

Kristi Korn (Rochester, NY) and Ashleigh Kassab (Walkersville, MD) would each score five goals in the win scoring nine of Pfeiffer's 14 first half goals. Korn and Kassab would both pick up their hat tricks within the first 12:02 of the half while Sarah Daly (New Market, MD) picked up all four of her assists in the same stretch.

Daly, along with Carly Garrison (Orlando, FL), Delaney Miller (Elkridge, MD) and Whitney Jaffe (Cohasset, MA) all scored twice while Shannon Bonnel (Mechanicsville, MD) accounted for the other. Cassidy Wilson (Centreville, MD would make five first half sets picking up the win for the Lady Falcons while Rachel McCarthy (Austin, TX) stopped seven in the second half.

Pfeiffer gets back to action this weekend in Annapolis, Maryland for matches against #8 New Haven and Wilmington (DE) on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Both matches will be played at Arundel Community College.

Sarah Daly, Carly Garrison, Delaney Miller, and Whitney Jaffe each added a pair of goals for the Lady Falcons.

Shepherd got goals from sophomore attacker/midfielder Kelsey Eagan (Baltimore, MD/Sparrows Point) and freshman midfielder Erin Phelan (Thurmont, MD/Catoctin). Sophomore attacker Georgia Karr (Eldersburg, MD/Liberty) and freshman attacker Hunter Morris (Severna Park, MD/Severn School) each provided assists.

Junior midfielder Jenny Cavey (Sykesville, MD/Westminster) and sophomore defender/midfielder Alyx Albano (Wayne, NJ/ Wayne Hills) each had a team-high five ground balls, while Albano added a game-high three caused turnovers.

Sophomore netminder Lily Schmulowitz (Baltimore, MD/Catonsville) recorded six saves for the Rams, while Cassidy Wilson (5) and Rachel McCarthy (7) combined for 12 saves for the Lady Falcons.

Pfeiffer held a 30-16 shots advantage in shots and a 23-18 edge in ground balls. The Lady Falcons had a 17-6 upper hand in draw controls.

Shepherd falls to 5-2, while Pfeiffer improves to 8-0. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host #12 Lock Haven for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
