St. Andrews Bounces Back with Win at Reinhardt

Waleska, GA- The #4 St. Andrews University women's lacrosse team bounced back with a vengeance Wednesday afternoon as they rolled over the Reinhardt University Eagles 16-9 to improve to 7-1 and 2-0 in the AAC.

The Knights came out on fire as they raced out to a 5-1 advantage before extending it to 9-3 two minutes before the half. St. Andrews would then score 6 of the next 7 goals in the second half to take a nine point lead with just 8 minutes to go in the game. The Knights, however, decided to take their foot off the gas and win by the final of 16-9.

The Lady Knights were led by junior Jackie Jones' 5 goals and 3 assists and senior Victoria Bickett's four goals. Bickett also won 9 draw controls. Senior Shana Schroeder added 2 goals while junior Catherine Lovallo also added 3 goals while sophomore Bree Thiedt was able to score her first goal of the season as well. Lovallo also gathered 3 ground balls and caused 3 turnovers.

Sophomore Dylana Galery also got her first action of the year behind goal as she took over for senior GK Meghan Powell in the second half and recorded 8 saves. Galery also played as a defender in the first half. Powell was able to make 4 saves in her 30 min of play.

Reinhardt falls to 0-5 and 0-1 in the conference with the home defeat. St. Andrews, now 7-1, will return home to host NWLL foe Emmanuel College on Friday at 4:00 pm at Knights Field.
