Dolphins Win Thriller vs. Saints in Overtime
It was another razor thin loss for a Siena team which has dropped four straight. All four losses have come by two goals or less with three by just a single tally.
Once again the Saints held a seemingly comfortable lead, scoring five straight goals to take a 7-3 lead midway through the third quarter. But once more the Saints couldn't hold it as Jacksonville (3-3, 1-0) scored five times in a four and a half minute span to knot the game at 8-8 heading into the fourth period.
Conor Prunty and Kyle Curry gave the Saints the lead back twice, with Curry making it 10-9 in Siena's favor with 6:46 remaining. But Mann scored the equalizer with 3:14 left in regulation and then ended it at the 2:39 mark of the first overtime period.
Nine Saints combined to score the team's 10 goals with Curry and Kieran Donohue leading the way with three points apiece. Matt Sharp had a strong effort in goal in a losing effort making 17 saves.
Mann finished with three points for the Dolphins as did David Goldman and Rob Wertz who contributed a hat trick.
Siena heads back out of conference for its next two games and continues a season long three-game road trip next Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Providence.
