LVC Braves Elements to Beat Marywood

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley braved snow and sleet to equal its best start through five games in program history as it beat Marywood 16-2 at Arnold Field.

The Dutchmen matched their 4-1 start from 2010 as they dominated the game with a 24-4 shots advantage. After starting a half-hour late to allow for snow removal from the field, the game was called with 10:13 remaining due to the conditions; by rule, enough of the game was completed to be official.

Hana Krechel scored three goals with six assists, and Allison McGinniss, Bailey Benz, Mel Modrick, and Sam Boyce each had two-goal games. Freshmen Haley Patrick, Emily Moatz, and Alyse Bingham each scored their first career goals.

Krechel and Modrick scored the first two goals of the game before Marywood's Sarah Caughy netted one less than four minutes in, but LVC found its rhythm on the draw and controlled the rest of the half, scoring 11 straight goals before the break. MU's Kimberly Commisso opened the second half, but Patrick, Moatz, and Bingham provided the rest of the scoring for the Dutchmen.

Erica Ameigh started and had a save in 16:47 of play; Corinne Palombo was not tested in relief during the rest of the first half, and Shelby Morris played the second half with a save. Leigha Dolcemascolo had six saves for Marywood.

LVC will host Misericordia on March 26.
