Cyclones Set Milestones in Shutout of Penn State Abington

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (March 16, 2013) - Despite the snow falling on Cyclone Field, Centenary had a day of milestones on Saturday as Robert Nuzzolese (Woodbury, NY, Syosset) recorded his 100th career goal and five Cyclones scored their first collegiate goal in a 24-0 win over Penn State Abington.

Leading the way was Nuzzolese who picked up his 100th career goal as a Cyclone early in the second quarter thanks to a pass from Luke Tremont (Vernon, Vernon Township) for his fifth goal of the game. Nuzzolese's milestone day came complete with five goals, an assist, two groundballs, and a caused turnover for the Cyclones.

Among the 24 goals for the Cyclones also came five collegiate firsts as Kyle Brown (Hillsborough, N.J., Hillsborough), Luke Tremont (Vernon, Vernon Township), Kenton Gottshall (Toms River, Toms River East), Anthony Biango (Highland Lakes, N.J., Vernon Twp.), and Conor Martin (Ridgewood, Ridgewood High School) each netted the first goal of their collegiate careers. Tremont and Martin each finished the game with two goals while Tremont added two assists including the memorable 100th goal for Nuzzolese in the second quarter.

Seniors Conor Nolan (Hillsborough, NJ, Immaculata) and Cameron Gunn (Johnson City, NY, Johnson City) also found themselves creeping up on history as Nolan posted two goals and three assists while Gunn recorded a goal and three assists for the Cyclones. With the points, Nolan is working his way towards his 100 goal and 200 point career mark, while Gunn is closing in on his 100th career point in his two-years as a Cyclone.

Because of the heavy snowfall, the game was called following the conclusion of the third quarter, giving the Cyclones the 24-0 win for their fifth straight win of the season. The undefeated Cyclones look to extend their record to 6-0 on Wednesday when they host The University of Scranton at 3:00 pm.
