Shepherd Falls to No. 12 Lock Haven

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. Shepherd University dropped an 18-7 decision to #12 Lock Haven in women's lacrosse action at Ram Stadium on Saturday.

Chelsea Borrino, Jessica Pandolf, and Kelly Hamilton each had four goals to lead the Lady Eagles. Borrino also had a game-high four assists.

Senior midfielder Nicole Ruane (Sykesville, MD/Century) led the Rams with two goals and an assist.

Sophomore attacker Georgia Karr (Eldersburg, MD/Liberty) and freshman midfielder Erin Phelan (Thurmont, MD/Catoctin) each had a pair of goals, while sophomore attacker/midfielder Kelsey Eagan (Baltimore, MD/Sparrows Point) recorded a goal and an assist.

Sophomore netminder Lily Schmulowitz (Baltimore, MD/Catonsville) recorded eight saves for the Rams, while Chrissy Baffuto recorded nine saves for the Lady Eagles.

Lock Haven opened game on an 8-0 run and took a 12-2 lead into the break.

The Lady Eagles held a 33-19 shots advantage in shots and a 20-18 edge in ground balls. Lock Haven dominated the draw controls with a 19-8 advantage.

Shepherd falls to 5-3, while Lock Haven improves to 1-0. The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they host Urbana for a 4:00 p.m. contest.
