Huge Second Half Lifts Rangers Past FDU

MADISON, N.J. (March 20, 2013) The Rangers scored 10 second-half goals in a 15-11 victory over cross-street rival Fairleigh Dickinson (3-5) this afternoon. The Rangers improve their record to 4-3 on the season and are now 13-1 all-time against the Devils.

Reigning Landmark Conference Player of the Week, Nikki Kleiman (Cranford, N.J./Cranford), netted six goals on the afternoon and scooped up a team-high five ground balls. Sophomore Krysta Cento (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) totaled nine points, scoring four times and assisting on five goals. Her five assists are one shy of the school record held by Hall of Famer Karen Townsend (three times) and Rachel Hurvitz.

The Devils were led by a pair of four-goal scorers in Katie Rolwood and Ashley Schlindwein. Rolwood also picked up a game-high seven ground balls. FDU scored only three second half goals and remain winless at Ranger Stadium.

The first half belonged to the Devils, as the scored six of the game's first eight goals, taking a commanding 6-2 lead with 19:57 remaining in the first half. The Rangers inched back before the sound of the halftime horn, scoring three of the next five goals including the final two of the period.

The Rangers came out of halftime firing, scoring five-straight goals including two in a man-down situation. The Rangers took the lead and kept it for good on Kleiman's third score of the day with 25:20 left in the game making the score, 9-8. The Rangers notched three-straight goals with under 10 minutes to play to seal the game.

Goalkeeper CC Carlini (Amherst, N.H./Bishop Guertin) made seven saves to earn her fourth win of the spring. In defeat, Devil netminder, Grace Warburton made 11 saves.

The Rangers will be at home on Saturday to host Washington College (Md.) at 1:00 p.m.
