No. 3 North Carolina Scores Final Four to Nip No. 10 Cornell

A mere 62 seconds after Salisbury tied it with her hat trick goal, D'Amico gave Cornell its first lead since 2-1 when she fired the ball behind new Carolina goalie Megan Ward. That point the 40th of D'Amico's career forced a Tar Heels timeout as they hoped to cool Cornell's 4-0 run.

Getting possession after the timeout, North Carolina was again flummoxed by Gallagher, who recorded her eighth save of the night on a free position shot. The Big Red went right down the field, and Moody got on the scoresheet with her first goal. Moody's goal was assisted by Toppe the Big Red's first assist of the contest.

The scoring slowed down briefly, but after North Carolina took a yellow card, D'Amico rocketed a free position shot into the net to make it 10-7 Cornell.

That would be Cornell's last goal, though, as the Tar Heels rallied from behind to claim the victory.

Cornell concludes a three-game spring break trip by returning to Ivy League play against Penn on Sunday. The Big Red and the Quakers will square off on Franklin Field at 1:00 p.m.
