Griffins Hold off Crusader Charge for Victory

Belmont Abbey junior Scotty Steele led the Crusaders with three goals, but the eighth-ranked Seton Hill Griffins held off a late Abbey charge to claim a 12-8 win this afternoon. Seton Hill moves to 6-1, while the Abbey drops to 6-3.

The Crusaders entered the fourth quarter trailing 11-3 but outscored the Griffins 5-1 in the fourth to pull back into the game. Steele tied for the game-high with three goals, while Daniel Marshall added two.

Connor Sellars, Caleb Holt and Brendan Rogers all had one. Sellars handed out a pair of assists, while Dan Morrissey, Tanner Scharr and Steele each had one.

Kevin Costa totaled six face-off wins and Devin Cruz totaled a team-high six ground balls. Costa, Cruz and Connor Doyle all had one caused turnover.
