No. 6 Pfeiffer Steamrolls Mount Olive to Go 11-0

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Sarah Daly (New Market, MD) scored a game-high six goals to lead #6 Pfeiffer past visiting Mount Olive 20-2 in Conference Carolinas action on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Falcons improve to 11-0 overall, 3-0 in league play while dropping the Trojans to 6-5, 1-3.

Daly started off scoring just 40 seconds in on Saturday before turning around to assist on a Shannon Bonnel (Mechanicsville, MD) goal just 32 seconds later. Ashleigh Kassab (Walkersville, MD) would assist on Daly's second of the day two minutes later before scoring her own goal on a free position shot with 24:37 remaining in the period.

Delaney Miller (Elkridge, MD) and Haley Gourdie (Clermont, FL) would be amongst the regular goal-scorers for the Lady Falcons before Daly's third strike at 14:27 put Pfeiffer up 11-0. Mount Olive's Alysha Kulka (Calgary, ALBERTA) would get the Trojans on the board at 13:06 before Allie Dunn (Newnan, GA) ended a three-goal stretch by the Lady Falcons to make it a 14-2 contest. As the buzzer sounded to end the first half, Kassab would hit on her fourth and final goal of the afternoon extended the lead to 15-2 at the break.

The Pfeiffer defense would hold Mount Olive scoreless for the entire second period and final 34 seconds of the first half as Daly added two final tallies along with Bonnel, Carly Garrison (Orlando, FL) and Whitney Jaffe (Cohasset, MA) to wrap up the day's scoring. Garrison would pick up a team-high four assists in the victory while Daly and Kassab each added three.

As a team, Pfeiffer held a commanding 32-4 shots advantage, 24-16 margin in groundballs and controlled 17 of the 23 draws. The Lady Falcons were a perfect 12 for 12 on clear attempts and forced 28 Mount Olive turnovers in the win.

Pfeiffer returns to action on Sunday taking on IUP at 12:00 p.m. Sunday's location is TBA with pending weather as is live stats.

MISENHEIMER, N.C. Mount Olive had its three-game winning streak snapped as the Trojans fell to nationally sixth-ranked Pfeiffer 20-2 in Conference Carolinas action Saturday. Allie Dunn and Alysha Kulka scored the Trojans' goals.

Mount Olive (6-5 overall, 1-3 Conference Carolinas) trailed 11-0 when Kulka got the Trojans on the scoreboard with 13:06 left in the first half. Dunn added a goal with 34 seconds remaining as Mount Olive trailed 15-2 at halftime.

Pfeiffer (11-0, 3-0) built a 3-0 lead less than four minutes into the contest on two goals and an assist by Sarah Daly. The Falcons went on to hold Mount Olive scoreless in the second half.

Trojan goalkeeper Sarah Snell recorded seven saves and eight ground balls. Mount Olive was 5-1 in its previous six contests prior to Saturday.

Mount Olive returns to action Thursday as the Trojans travel to Murfreesboro, N.C., to take on Chowan in a rematch of the first-ever women's lacrosse game for both schools. The Trojans defeated the Hawks 17-2 February 7 at Amon Field. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
