Harrison Saves 20, But Bobcats Still Routed by Trojans

BANNER ELK, N.C. -- Ryan Harrison (Lake Mary, Fla.) posted his third 20-save performance of the season, and Lees-McRae held Mount Olive to 32 percent shooting in Conference Carolinas play on Saturday afternoon, but the Trojans captured a 16-1 win on Tate Field.

Mount Olive (6-3, 2-0 CC) outshot Lees-McRae (0-11, 0-3 CC) by a stretch of 50-18, including a 29-3 advantage in the first half, while converting 21 of 22 clearing attempts and scooping up 48 ground balls. The Bobcats held the edge in face-off wins, controlling 10 of 19 draws, while recording 44 grounders.

Jeff White (Middle Township, N.J.) paced the Bobcats with his 12th goal of the season, as he and Harrison each scooped up a game-high seven ground balls. Dalton Lamb (Clemmons, N.C.) and Justin McLaughlin (Charlotte, N.C.) both recorded five grounders, while Matt Hanes (Ballwin, Mo.) and Benjamin Shifflett (Clemmons, N.C.) each forced a pair of turnovers. Harrison turned in another fine performance between the pipes, making 21 saves.

Cameron Walsh led the way for Mount Olive, scoring four goals and adding an assist on six shots. Daniel and Matt Shields combined for two goals and seven assists, as Daniel dished out a game-high five helpers. Matt Shields, Matt Devoy and Jake Hancock each tallied a pair of strikes for the Trojans, while Curtis McMullen recorded four ground balls and forced four turnovers. Rocky Bowman, Eli Dodgson and Nico Shewey combined for seven saves in the contest.

The battled hard throughout the contest, playing suffocating defense inspired by a career performance by Harrison, who made 12 of his 21 saves in the first half. Mount Olive would take a 9-0 lead into the half, adding four in the third and three in the fourth before White capped the day's scoring with an unassisted strike at the 5:36 mark.

Lees-McRae returns to action on Wednesday when the Bobcats travel to Charlotte, N.C. to continue their conference slate with a 4:00 p.m. match-up against Queens University of Charlotte.
