COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Top-ranked Maryland got its offense on track late, but a hot start carried No. 14 North Carolina (5-3) to 9-3 lead, and they held on for a 10-8 victory on Saturday at Byrd Stadium. The Tar Heels' Kieran Burke made 15 saves on the day, and both Jimmy Bitter and Joey Sankey scored three goals in the winning effort. The Terps (6-1), who were handed their first loss, were led by Owen Blye and Kevin Cooper with two goals each. Photos of the action are by Rich Barnes.
