Queens Dominates, Keeps Lees-McRae Winless

CHARLOTTE, N.C. Queens (6-7) picked up a dominating 19-3 win over Lees-McRae this afternoon at Dickson Field in men's lacrosse action. The win improves the Royals' conference record to 3-1. The Bobcats are still in search of their first win of the season at 0-12.

Casey Hock led the Royals today with four goals and three assists to total seven points. Garrett Chan and Austin Oswinkle each notched four points on two goals and two assists apiece. Steve McKee and Evan Farkas added three points, while Tim Cloud, Jason Krogulski and Jimmy Baker each tallied two. Tyler Rogers was dominant at the face-off position winning 14 of 23.

On the defensive end, Adam Oscienny, Mike Reed and Dillon Draper each collected three caused turnovers. The Royals totaled 17.

After holding a 3-1 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Royals would use a 4-0 run in the second to head into the break leading 7-1.

Queens would open things up in the third quarter, putting 10 in the back of the net within the 15 minutes. The 16-point margin proved to be too much for the Bobcats to overcome in the fourth as Queens took the home victory.

The Royals outshot Lees-McRae 47-16 and totaled 38 ground balls in the win. Eric Dolan took the win in the cage after splitting time with Nick Simonetti. The two combined for nine saves.

Jeff White led the Bobcats with two goals. Ryan Harrison took the loss in the net after getting 12 stops.

Queens travels to face No. 3 Limestone College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Jeff White (Middle Township, N.J.) scored two goals to lead the way for Lees-McRae on Wednesday afternoon, as Queens outscored the Bobcats by a 7-1 margin in the first half en route to a 19-3 victory in Conference Carolinas play.

Queens (6-7, 3-0 CC) outshot Lees-McRae (0-12, 0-4 CC) by a 47-16 margin in the contest, including a 24-8 advantage in the first half, while winning 16 of 25 face-offs and converting 21 of 24 clearing attempts. The Royals recorded 38 ground balls, as the Bobcats converted 19 clears and scooped up 22 grounders.

White paced the Bobcats with two goals on four shots, scooping up three ground balls, as Jon Batsel (Raleigh, N.C.) added a strike and Dalton Lamb (Clemmons, N.C.) tallied an assist. Ryan Harrison (Lake Mary, Fla.) and Nick Netting (Arlington, Va.) each posted a team-high four ground balls while Harrison made 12 saves for the Bobcats.

The Royals opened the first quarter with three goals before the Bobcats responded, cutting the advantage to 3-1 on White's first of the evening at the 4:29 mark. Queens answered with four goals in the second, taking a 7-1 lead into the intermission following Farkas' initial tally with 1:38 left on the clock.

Hock kicked off the second half with his third of the day, stretching the margin to 8-1 as the Royals tallied 10 goals in the period. The Bobcats battled hard in the fourth, equaling Queens' scoring efforts on strikes from Batsel and White to cap the day's scoring.

Lees-McRae returns to action on Sunday, April 7 when the Bobcats host Wheeling Jesuit University in non-conference play at 1:00 p.m. on Tate Field.
