NLL Player Awards for Week No. 12

The National Lacrosse League has announced Player of the Week awards for Week #12 of the 2013 NLL regular season which featured three games this past weekend. Three Edmonton Rush players won awards in their respective categories after two decisive road wins clinched a playoff berth and moved them atop the West Division standings.

Edmonton Rush forward Corey Small, who ranks second on the team in goals (25) and third in points (57), won the Offensive Player of the Week award after posting a combined 11 points (6+5) over the weekend.

Buffalo Bandits transition player Alex Kedoh Hill, acquired by the team before the trade deadline on March 13, won the Transition Player of the Week award after scoring a hat trick in his Bandits and season debut.

Rush goalie Aaron Bold, tied for the league lead with eight wins this season, won Defensive Player of the Week after two strong performances in net last weekend.

Edmonton forward Curtis Knight, who ranks third among NLL rookies with 38 points (15+23) in 2013, registered a combined six points (4+2) on the weekend to win his second Rookie of the Week award this season after earning the honor in Week #2.

Offensive Player of the Week
Corey Small, Edmonton Rush (2 GP, 6G, 5A, 11 LB): Small recorded seven points (4+3) and nine loose balls in Edmonton's 14-7 win at Buffalo on Saturday and four points (2+2) and two loose balls in Edmonton's 17-12 win at Toronto on Sunday.

Transition Player of the Week
Alex Kedoh Hill, Buffalo Bandits (3G, 8 LB, 1 FT): Kedoh Hill recorded three goals, eight loose balls and one forced turnover in Buffalo's 14-7 loss vs. Edmonton on Saturday.

Defensive Player of the Week
Aaron Bold, Edmonton Rush (2 GP, 2W, 9.50 GAA, .771 SV%): Bold recorded 35 saves on 42 shots in Edmonton's 14-7 win at Buffalo on Saturday and 29 saves on 41 shots in Edmonton's 17-12 win at Toronto on Sunday.

Rookie of the Week
Curtis Knight, Edmonton Rush (2 GP, 4G, 2A, 5 LB, 1 FT): Knight recorded four points (3+1) and two loose balls in Edmonton's 14-7 win at Buffalo on Saturday and two points (1+1), three loose balls and one forced turnover in Edmonton's 17-12 win at Toronto on Sunday.
