IWLCA Poll for Women's Division III - April 1st

The Trinity Bantams held on to the No. 1 spot in the IWLCA poll for a sixth consecutive week, picking up four first-place votes to put some space between them and the No. 2 Salisbury Sea Gulls.

The same 20 schools from last week appear in this week's rankings, giving the NESCAC seven ranked teams. The Centennial Conference boasts three teams in the top-20 while both the CAC and the SUNYAC have two teams in the poll.

The NESCAC continues to be led by No. 1 Trinity; Middlebury moved up one spot to sit at No. 3. Three other schools sit in the top-10 with Colby holding at No. 6, Bowdoin moving to No. 9 and Amherst moving back into the top-10 at No. 10. Hamilton moves to No. 15 and Tufts falls in right behind at No. 16.

Gettysburg from the Centennial remains at No. 5 and Franklin & Marshall moves up to No. 8, while Washington College holds at No. 20.

The CAC's Salisbury holds steady at No. 2 while CAC rival York leads off the second half of the poll at No. 11.

Cortland from the SUNYAC shifts to No. 4 while Geneseo remains at No. 19.

Six other conferences are represented in the poll, starting with the NJAC as TCNJ moves to No. 7. Susquehanna from the Landmark shifts to No. 12, just in front of No. 13 Ithaca from the Empire 8. Messiah from the Commonwealth Conference rises to No. 14, while Christopher Newport from the USA South holds steady at the No. 17 spot. RPI from the Liberty League remains at No. 18.

On Wednesday, No. 15 Hamilton hosts No. 3 Middlebury in a key NESCAC match-up. On Friday, a top-10 meeting is on the docket as No. 8 Franklin & Marshall welcomes No. 7 TCNJ. Another game between ranked teams takes place on Friday as No. 2 Salisbury welcomes No. 14 Messiah.

On Saturday, two NESCAC games feature two top-10 ranked teams as No. 3 Middlebury hosts No. 10:00 a.m.herst and No. 9 Bowdoin welcomes top-ranked Trinity. On Sunday, two more top-20 games are on the schedule in the NESCAC as the top-ranked Bantams stay in Maine to face No. 6 Colby and the No. 3 Panthers host the No. 16 Tufts Jumbos.

This is the sixth weekly poll by the IWLCA for the 2013 season; the next poll will be released on April 9.
