Union opened the scoring by capitalizing on a Keene State turnover behind the Union net. Junior Nolan Connors intercepted a pass and fed Santangelo alone in front. Santangelo finished with a low scoop shot to put the Dutchmen ahead at 11:01.

Connors scored at 5:21 on a dive in front of the circle, and after goals by Greg Mooney (man-up) and Jake Quinn, added another goal with :32 remaining in the period to give Dutchmen a five goal lead.

Wicke scored from long range at 13:46 in the second quarter to end the run, but Union's Richard Gregory and Alex D'Amario scored 26 seconds apart later in the frame. Gregory scored at 8:40 off a fast break, and D'Amario scored his first career goal at 8:14 on a nice feed from Connors.

Keene State's JT Galloway scored just seven seconds later, and Taylor Jette added a goal with 1:46 to go in the half to make it 7-3 at the break.

Union opened up the second half with three quick goals from junior attack Nate Greenberg (12:12), Connors (11:05) and senior midfielder Joe Cordrey (9:56).

But the Owls answered with four straight goals late in the third and early in the fourth quarter to make it a game. Wicke scored on man-up opportunity with 6:52 left in the third quarter, and Galloway added another goal as the trailer on a fast break at 1:10 to make it 10-5 heading into the fourth quarter.

Keene State's Ryan Hart scored on a turnaround shot at 14:07 of the fourth quarter, and added another goal at 13:35 with a shot on the move in front of the net to make it 10-7. But the Union defense held steady, and Connors added his fourth of the game at 6:48 to put the Dutchmen ahead by four goals late.

Ian Hart would add a goal for Keene State with 3:19 to go, but the Owls would get no closer.

Union will return to Liberty League play on Saturday with a 5:00 p.m. contest against Clarkson at Frank Bailey Field.
