Shorter Extends Streak to Four with Win at Emmanuel

ROME, Ga.-Shorter extended its win streak to four games with the 19-8 victory over conference foe, Emmanuel, Wednesday morning on the road. The win also gave the Lady Hawks the season sweep of the Lions.

The victory improves Shorter to 10-3 on the season and 3-0 in conference play.

No official statistics were kept for the game, but the Lady Hawks were able to add to what has already been an impressive season.

Shelby Beverly led the attack for Shorter with five goals on the day; while Mia Wiggins chipped in with four. The Lady Hawks went into the intermission leading 9-6.

Shorter held the Lions to two goals in the second half; while adding to their lead with ten of their own.

The Lady Hawks were able to gain control of sixteen draws; led by Aiste Pranciliauskaite who accounted for seven. Desiree Watson-Isom added four.

Nicole Kube got the start in goal for Shorter, playing the first half; where she picked up three saves on nine shots faced. Taylor Moody entered the game after the break, and made six saves while facing eleven shots.

Savannah Gratz scored four of Emmanuel's eight goals.

The Lady Hawks will be back in action on Sunday, April 7, as they travel to Savannah for a showdown with NWLL rival, SCAD; which will likely decide the No. 1 national ranking. The game is set to begin at 12:00 p.m..
