Queener Assists No. 3 Limestone in Rout of Mount Olive

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. Senior attack Sylvia Queener (Penn Yan, N.Y.) dished out a career-high eight assists and spearheaded 16 straight goals to open the game, as No. 3 Limestone (11-1, 4-0 CC) never gave first-year Mount Olive (7-6, 1-4 CC) a chance in a 19-4 victory Wednesday, April 3.

Queener's career-high eight assists were joined by a solo goal for nine points and junior attack Sarah Oor (Uxbridge, Canada) finished with a pair of scores and four assists. Senior midfielder Chelsea Treat (Penn Yan, N.Y.) posted a game-high five goals while junior midfielder Katie Farrell (Brooks, Ga.) deposited four into the back of the net.

Sophomore midfielder Sam McCarrick (Oswego, N.Y.) and senior midfielder Jessie Aguglia (Webster, N.Y.) each chipped in with two goals and senior midfielder Chelsea Hargett (Ithaca, N.Y.), junior midfielder Kacie Harris (Stanley, N.Y.) and freshman midfielder Carleigh Davis (Eldersburg, Md.) each added a solo score. Senior goalkeeper Rashelle McLellan (East Lyme, Conn.) started and played 51:17, making four saves and allowing just one goal to move to 11-1 on the season.

The Saints came out on their game, and so did Chelsea Treat as she score four straight goals, three off assists by Sarah Oor, to make it a 4-0 ball game by the 19:09 mark of the first half. Following the first of back-to-back goals by Katie Farrell, with the first assisted on by Oor, it was Queener's turn to fuel the offense as she assisted on four straight goals to push the lead to 9-0 with 5:51 on the clock. Treat would add the only unassisted goal of the half with 16 seconds to play to make it 10-0 at the break.

It would be only a momentary respite for the Trojans as Limestone picked back up right where they had left off. Over the first 10 minutes of the second half they would score six goals before MOC's Michelle Scannell came away with an unassisted score at 16:36.

The Saints would drill three consecutive goals over the next nine minutes to stretch to a 19-1 advantage at 7:13 before Mount Olive would score three meaningless goals in the final six minutes for the final margin of 19-4.

Cailin Sabadish led the Trojans with a pair of goals while Michelle Scannell and Alysha Kulka each had solo scores. Scannell added five draw controls and Heather Cockburn finished with four groundballs. Sarah Snell played all 60 minutes in goal, allowing all 19 goals and making a pair of saves to take the loss.

Limestone returns home for a battle with No. 6 Pfeiffer (12-0, 4-0 CC) that will determine the Conference Carolinas Regular Season Championship. That game is set for Saturday, April 6 at Saints Field with a 12:00 p.m. opening draw.
