Visiting Randolph-Macon Outguns Shenandoah

WINCHESTER, Va. Visiting Randolph-Macon used a strong start Saturday to key a 20-13 ODAC men's lacrosse victory over Shenandoah.

The Yellow Jackets (5-7, 1-3 ODAC) scored the initial six goals of the game to take a lead they would not relinquish over Shenandoah (5-6, 0-5).

SU would get not closer than five goals the rest of the way.

Freshman Nick Rondeau brought the hosts to within five, at 8-3, with an unassisted goal at 11:03 of the second.

Macon then completed the half with a 4-1 run.

Sean Ohlhaver had the lone Shenandoah goal in this span, scoring unassisted at 5:23.

A 3-1 SU run to start the second half brought coach Mike Kruger's club to another five goal deficit only to see R-MC tally four times in the final 3:37 of the stanza to increase its advantage to 16-7 as the fourth period started.

The Hornets completed the game by scoring six of the game's 10 goals.

Pope and Ohlhaver both had two goals during this run.

Pope led the hosts with four goals, Ohlhaver had three and both Rondeau and Colin Fowler two each.

The Yellow Jackets outshot SU 44-35, had a 49-36 advantage in groundballs and won 24 of 36 faceoffs.
