Siena Gets Revenge, Tops Defending MAAC Champ Canisius

Canisius never got closer than five goals at any point in the second half, and a five-goal run over a five-minute span midway through the third quarter doubled Siena's lead to 10 goals as the rout was on.

Siena's offense, which has been balanced all year long, was so again. Colin Clive led the way with his second straight four-goal game, while Nate Barry, Danny Martinsen and Thomas Schoener each added two goals and an assist.

Defensively, the Saints also posted a season best in allowing just six goals. Matt Sharp made 11 saves in cage for the Saints which are starting to find their stride having won three of four.

Six Golden Griffins scored a goal apiece with Billy Jacobbi leading all Canisius players with three points. Alex Giovenettio made nine saves for Canisius in two and a half quarters of action.

The Saints return to action Saturday when they host Detroit at 1:00 p.m. The game will be televised throughout New York on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel.
