Shenandoah Secures ODAC Berth with Win over Randolph

WINCHESTER, Va. - Shenandoah clinched a berth in the upcoming ODAC Tournament with a 19-2 victory over visiting Randolph Wednesday evening.

The co-league-leading Hornets (10-2, 7-0 ODAC) broke a 1-1 tie with the WildCats (4-8, 1-6) with an 11-goal first half run.

Senior Sydney Anderson got the run started at 26:54 with her goal off of an Evie Gaffney assist, and SU pumped in 10 more unanswered to take a 12-1 lead with 1:51 remaining in the stanza.

Mlanie Eisele finally snapped the string with her tally six seconds before halftime for the 'Cats.

Shenandoah then scored all seven goals of the second, including the first-ever collegiate goal by freshman Liz Paras.

Paras closed the book on the day's scoring when she finished off a Samantha Sisson goal with 10 seconds to play.

The win clinches a spot in the six-team tournament - SU is currently tied with Guilford for the top spot in the conference and the two teams have a one-game advantage over third-place Roanoke.

The top two teams in the league will receive a first-round bye in the tournament.

The Quakers visit Winchester on Saturday in a 2:00 contest.

The Hornets outshot Randolph 33-7 Wednesday evening, had a 25-9 advantage in groundballs and won 13 of 22 draw controls.
