Shannon, Kehring Lead Marauders by Rams in 41-Goal Game

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. Caitlin Shannon and Kathryn Kehring each had six goals to lead Millersville to a 27-14 win over Shepherd in action at Millersville on Monday afternoon.

Sophomore attacker Georgia Karr (Eldersburg, MD/Liberty) recorded four goals and two assists, while senior midfielder Nicole Ruane (Sykesville, MD/Century) had four goals and an assist to lead the Rams.

Sophomore attacker/midfielder Kelsey Eagan (Baltimore, MD/Sparrows Point) added three goals and freshman attacker Hunter Morris (Severna Park, MD/Severn School) added a goal and two assists.

The Rams also got goals from senior midfielder Krista Tippett (Leonardtown, MD/Leonardtown) and freshman midfielder Erin Phelan (Thurmont, MD/Catoctin). Sophomore defender/midfielder Alyx Albano (Wayne, NJ/ Wayne Hills) chipped in with an assist.

Hannah Vogel and Brooke Fisher each added five goals for Millersville.

Sophomore netminder Lily Schmulowitz (Baltimore, MD/Catonsville) recorded seven saves for the Rams, while Lauren Mateja had nine saves for the Marauders.

The Marauder jumped out to a 6-2 lead and held a 19-8 advantage at halftime.

Millersville held a 38-27 advantage in shots and a 25-17 edge in ground balls. Draw controls were even at 21-all.

Shepherd falls to 8-6, while Millersville improves to 8-4. The Rams return to action on Thursday when they host Frostburg State for a 4:00 p.m. contest.
