IWLCA Poll for Women's Division III - April 15th

The Trinity Bantams put some distance between themselves at No. 1 and the No. 2 Salisbury Sea Gulls as the IWLCA released its eighth weekly poll. The same 20 schools remained in the ranking, with the NESCAC continuing to lead all conferences with seven ranked schools. The Centennial has three ranked teams, while both the CAC and the SUNYAC have two schools in the poll.

Trinity leads the NESCAC and the national poll at No. 1; three other schools are also in the top-10. Middlebury holds at No. 3 while Colby remains at No. 6 and Bowdoin moves up to No. 8. Amherst moves to No. 12 and Hamilton remains at No. 16 while Tufts moves to No. 19.

The Centennial's Gettysburg remains at No. 5 and Franklin & Marshall also holds steady with the Diplomats at No. 7. Washington College rounds out the poll at No. 20.

Salisbury from the CAC stays at No. 2 as the Sea Gulls are the only school other than Trinity to pick up first-place votes. York re-enters the top 10 at No. 10.

The SUNYAC's Cortland remains at No. 4 while Fredonia moves up three spots to No. 17.

Six other conferences boast one school each. The TCNJ Lions from the NJAC remain in the top-10 at No. 9. Susquehanna from the Landmark moves up to No. 11 while Ithaca from the Empire 8 remains the same, holding at No. 13. Messiah from the Commonwealth Conference remains at No. 14, while the USA South's Christopher Newport moves up two slots to tie Messiah at No. 14. RPI from the Liberty League moves to No. 18.

On Tuesday, a key NESCAC game takes place as No. 8 Bowdoin hosts No. 6 Colby. On Wednesday, a key CAC game is on tap as No. 2 Salisbury welcomes No. 10 York. Three games are on the docket for Saturday as No. 6 Colby hosts No. 3 Middlebury, No. 5 Gettysburg welcomes No. 20 Washington College, and No. 16 Hamilton takes on No. 19 Tufts in New York. Sunday's listing includes No. 2 Salisbury hosting No. 14 Christopher Newport.

This is the eighth weekly poll by the IWLCA for the 2013 season; the next poll will be released on April 23.
