Rams Shutdown Merchant Marine in Non-Conference Win

Kings Point, N.Y. - Farmingdale State defeated Merchant Marine, 16-2, in a non-conference game Monday evening. The Rams improved to 12-2 on the year, while the Mariners fell to 0-8.

10 different Farmingdale State players scored in the first half as the Rams took a 10-0 lead into the halftime break.

In the second half, Merchant Marine scored the first two goals, before Farmingdale State closed with six unanswered scores to earn the 16-2 non-conference victory.

Freshman attack Gabrielle Zutter (Centereach, N.Y.) and sophomore attacks Emily Wolff (Middle Island, N.Y.) and Paige Paternostro (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) each scored two goals. Sophomore attack Kelly Geheran (Sayville, N.Y.) tallied a goal, two assists and a game-high five draw controls, while freshman midfielder Janisha Sanchez (Brentwood, N.Y.) recorded three assists.

The Rams next will travel to Sage for a Skyline Conference game on Wednesday, April 17th at 7:30 p.m.
