Franklin & Marshall Rushes by Ursinus in Centennial Tilt

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Emily Everdell and Caroline each scored four goals and added an assist to lead No. 7 Franklin & Marshall to an 18-6 victory over Ursinus in Centennial Conference action Wednesday evening. F&M improved to 11-2, 6-0 CC, while the Bears dropped to 4-9, 1-5 CC.

Mary Mitchell scored once and handed out three assists; Casey Madden, Maggie Mae Shields and Brittney Jorgenson each netted two goals while Lauren Selawski and Ali Kelly added a goal each for the Diplomats.

Everdell found the net 37 seconds into the game with Ursinus answering a little over a minute later to tie the game at 1-1. It was all F&M after that as the Diplomats went on a 6-0 run to go up 7-1 midway through the first. Krohn scored three of her goals in the run with Jorgenson, Madden and Shields adding the other three scores.

The Bears slipped one through at 13:53 to temporarily stop the run, but F&M finished off the half with five straight and took a 12-2 lead into the break.

Krohn got things started in the second with a goal at 26:21 before Kitty Dawson gave the Bears their third goal of the evening. Mitchell found Jorgenson at 22:12 and Ursinus scored two straight before the Diplomats rattled off four of their own to go up 18-5 with 7:50 left to play. Amber Moyer added the final goal for Ursinus at 3:09.

Jen Noon had four ground balls and Shields caused three turnovers to pace the F&M defense.

Kelsey Hoffman had three saves in 37 minutes of work and went to 10-3, Kaitlin Hardt had two stops in relief and Riley Pembroke took loss for the Bears.

The Diplomats outshot Ursinus 24-13, caused 20 turnovers and went 15 for 17 on clears.

F&M returns to action on Saturday when the Diplomats travel to Haverford for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
