Shepherd Storms Past Frostburg State

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. Freshman attacker Hunter Morris (Severna Park, MD/Severn School) had six goals and two assists, while senior midfielder Nicole Ruane (Sykesville, MD/Century) added five goals and one assist to lead Shepherd to a 26-5 win over Frostburg State in action at Ram Stadium on Thursday afternoon.

Sophomore attacker/midfielder Kelsey Eagan (Baltimore, MD/Sparrows Point) tallied three goals and three assists, while freshman midfielder Erin Phelan (Thurmont, MD/Catoctin) had three goals and an assist.

Junior midfielder Christina Ferrara (California, MD/Leonardtown) had two goals and three assists, while junior midfielder Jenny Cavey (Sykesville, MD/Westminster) added a pair of goals.

Sophomore attacker Georgia Karr (Eldersburg, MD/Liberty) recorded a goal and two assists and senior midfielder Krista Tippett (Leonardtown, MD/Leonardtown) added a goal and an assist.

The Rams also got goals from junior attacker Hanna Wharton (Ijamsville, MD/Urbana), sophomore defender/midfielder Alyx Albano (Wayne, NJ/ Wayne Hills), and freshman midfielder Maggie Garvey (Chester, MD/Kent Island).

Megan White had three goals and Emily Walker added a goal and an assist to lead Frostburg State.

Sophomore netminder Lily Schmulowitz (Baltimore, MD/Catonsville) recorded five saves for the Rams, while Naomi Swann had nine saves for the Bobcats.

The Rams jumped out to a 13-2 lead and had a 14-4 advantage at halftime.

Shepherd held a 46-16 advantage in shots and a 34-18 edge in ground balls.

Shepherd improves to 9-6, while Frostburg State falls to 5-9. The Rams conclude their season on Sunday when they host Chestnut Hill for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
