#5 Le Moyne Rolls Past Southern New Hampshire

Manchester, N.H. Tyler Prevost and Chris Button each recorded five points to lead fifth-ranked Le Moyne to a 17-8 win over Southern New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 action at Larkin Field.

Southern New Hampshire opened the game's scoring just 2:46 into the contest as John Cuozzo scored off a pass from Rob Murray. Just 18 seconds later, graduate student midfielder Aaron Cahill (Schenectady, N.Y./Guilderland/Onondaga C.C.) evened the score with his fifth goal of the year. The Penmen regained the lead with 10:20 remaining in the opening quarter on an unassisted goal by Murray.

The Dolphins scored the game's next nine goals to blow the contest open. Junior midfielder Andrew Chadderdon (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) tied the game at two with 8:12 remaining in the quarter with an unassisted goal.

Off a delayed slashing penalty enforced after the goal, senior attackman Nate Frechette (Manlius, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) netted an extra-man goal off a pass from classmate Prevost. Button completed the scoring in the quarter with 43 seconds left after taking a pass from Frechette.

Junior midfielder/face-off specialist Kam Bumpus (Marshfield, Mass./Needham/Bridgton Academy) won the opening face-off of the second quarter and raced in to net his 12th goal of the campaign just seven seconds into the stanza.

Just over two minutes later, Button scored off another pass from Frechette. On the ensuing face-off, freshman midfielder/attackman Mike Jenkins (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) scored after taking a pass from sophomore defenseman Gerald O'Brien (Binghamton, N.Y./Seton Catholic).

Sophomore attackman Kevin Kelly (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) extended Le Moyne's lead to 8-2 with 4:08 left off a pass from classmate Alec Westerhoff (Lagrange Park, Ill./Lyons Township/Bridgton Academy).

Following an unreleasable unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on the Penmen enforced after the goal, sophomore midfielder Joe Corapi (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) tallied an extra-man goal after receiving a pass from Prevost at the 3:50 mark. Out of a Le Moyne timeout with 3:39 left, Frechette found the back of the net six seconds later off a pass from Prevost.

Murray ended Le Moyne's run with 2:26 left by finishing off a pass from Cuozzo. He then opened the scoring in the third quarter with an unassisted goal 1:37 into the period.

The Dolphins pushed their lead back to eight with a pair of goals 1:09 apart. Prevost tallied his 16th goal of the season with 11:24 remaining and then Button scored eight seconds into a delay of game penalty off a feed from Chadderdon.

After Cameron Joyce scored for the Penmen with 7:14 left off a pass from Cuozzo, Button tallied his fourth goal of the day as Prevost picked up his fourth assist of the afternoon with 5:33 left. Murray completed the scoring in the quarter with an unassisted goal with two seconds left.

Le Moyne scored four times over the opening 8:19 of the fourth quarter to take a 17-6 lead. Chadderdon started the run with an extra-man goal with 11:25 left. Just 72 seconds later, Button recorded his final goal of the game off a pass from Jenkins. Westerhoff gave the Dolphins a 10-goal lead with 8:30 left, while freshman attackman Andrew Jackson (Syracuse, N.Y./Henninger) finished capped Le Moyne's scoring with 6:41 remaining.

The Penmen scored twice in a span of 38 seconds to end the game's scoring. Phil LaTorre scored with 5:08 left, while Corey Allen netted an extra-man goal off a pass from Cuozzo at the 4:30 mark.
