Wolf Saves 14 as No. 13 Loyola Defeats Scarlet Knights

Burke scored the first goal of the second half, after Geiger got the ball through the midfield and found VanThof for the assist to Burke at 27:51.

Geiger again cleared the ball following a Rutgers turnover and found VanThof for her first goal of the game at 26:40, giving Loyola an 8-2 advantage.

Cursaro broke a 13-minute scoreless drought for the Greyhounds, finding the back of the net at 13:41, but the Scarlet Knights responded by breaking their own 25-minute scoreless streak, scoring a man-up goal at 9:41.

Rutgers added a second-straight score at 1:23 to bring the final score to 10-4.

Defensively, Geiger had three ground balls and three caused turnovers, while Annie Thomas had three ground balls and two caused turnovers and senior Ashley Moulton had two ground balls and two caused turnovers. Paton finished the game with three draw controls.

The 14 saves for Wolf is a career high and is marks the second 10-save game of her career.

Loyola will close out its regular season next weekend when it hosts Syracuse and Connecticut at Ridley Athletic Complex. The Greyhounds will host the Orange Friday at 7:00 p.m., and the Huskies for Senior Day on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
