MSG Varsity to Air Live Coverage of Garden City vs. Manhasset

BETHPAGE, N.Y., April 24, 2013 MSG Varsity, Cablevision's 24/7 Emmy Award-winning high school network, will provide Live HD coverage of the 123rd Annual Woodstick Classic between Garden City HS and Manhasset HS-the oldest uninterrupted public school lacrosse rivalry in the nation-this Saturday, April 27 starting at 7:00 pm on Optimum TV Channel 14.

The Woodstick Classic is the longest running high school lacrosse rivalry in the United States, and features two schools that this year are among the nation's strongest programs-as well as powerhouses in the tri-state area. Garden City, currently ranked second in MSG Varsity's Tri-State area poll, trails in all-time wins in the series against Manhasset, currently ranked 19th in the tri-state.

"It is an honor for us to broadcast one of the most prestigious lacrosse games in the country," said Michael Lardner, Senior Vice President Executive Producer, MSG Varsity. "This rivalry is unmatched in the high school lacrosse world and provides some of the highest quality action between two of the nation's top teams."

Calling the game for MSG Varsity will be Jimmy Cavallo (play-by-play), Pat McCabe (color analyst) and Mike Quick, Host of MSG Varsity's "A Quick:60" will anchor the halftime report.

In addition, the game will be streamed live on www.msgvarsity.com/liveaccess and once broadcast available on-demand on Optimum Channel 614.
